El Corte Inglés Alicante will host, on Thursday 29 October from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the presentation of “Un mundo aparte” by María Lucas.

Synopsis

Who are you really when you need a mask to hide your truth? Eduardo is twenty‑two and trapped in a work routine he despises. To escape, he divides his life into two parallel realities built on deception and secrecy.

From Monday to Thursday, he takes refuge in Emma, an independent young woman passionate about culture, before whom he pretends to be an attentive, thoughtful guy, finding an unexpected oasis of calm. However, when the weekend arrives, that mask falls away completely.

With his group of friends, Eduardo plunges into the wild nightlife of late‑nineties Alicante, drifting between pubs and massive nightclubs fuelled by alcohol, joints and an arsenal of designer drugs. In this whirlwind of artificial escape, he feeds a blind obsession with Alicia, the unreachable “perfect ten” of the group.

As the psychological weight of his double life becomes unbearable, Eduardo heads toward one final, decisive party. He will try to break away from everything, unaware that the price of his escape may be tragically irreversible.
