El Corte Inglés Málaga hosts the presentation of “Mar de estío. Cien relatos con corazón”, the new book by Fernando Portolés, on Tuesday, 29 September at 7:30 p.m.

“Mar de estío” is a journey. To life, to love, to death. To the memories that weave who we are, to the longings of what could not be. To everything that stole something from us. It is a journey into the things we keep. From our own lives and from the lives of others. Into the fears that inhabit the heart.

“Mar de estío” is a collection of heartbeats on the edge of a summer sea—bustling in its brightest hours, melancholic in its moments of abandonment. They are tears, some old, some new, some contained, others spilled. It is a nostalgic gaze toward those nights in which we were immortal. It is, ultimately, a journey that leads us to that final heartbeat, as dazed and strange as the first. Though a little older, and not quite as bare.
