El Corte Inglés, first department store in the world to achieve a Michelin star thanks to Dabiz Muñoz

El Corte Inglés has become the first department store in the world to get a Michelin star after chef Dabiz Muñoz's RavioXO was awarded its first star in the Michelin Guide.

Just six months after its opening, RavioXO has earned its first star from the Food Guide. The restaurant was inaugurated last May at the Gourmet Experience at El Corte Inglés in Castellana (Madrid).

At the gala held in Toledo, Dabiz Muñoz expressed his joy at this new recognition, which he  shared with his entire team. This star adds to the other three that he already has at DiverXO. The chef emphasized that this was the first time that a project located in a department store receives this international award. Additionally, he recalled the beginning of his relationship with El Corte Inglés 10 years ago with the launch of StreetXO.

El Corte Inglés states that “it’s an honor to accompany such a talented chef as David Muñoz". "We are happy for the recognition achieved, which means valuing the work of RavioXO's alma mater and his entire team, whom we congratulate on this achievement."

RavioXo is a new gastronomic concept by Dabiz Muñoz that stakes its success on dumplings. The decoration was carried out by the interior design studio of Lázaro Rosa Violán, and the Real Estate projects department of El Corte Inglés  led the execution of the work.

The new Michelin star in Madrid is the second restaurant that chef Dabiz Muñoz has opened inside an El Corte Inglés store, since the first was StreetXO 10 years ago, which will open in a new location in the coming weeks.

The new StreetXO, which is currently under construction and will be located at El Corte Inglés de Serrano, 47 (Madrid), will double the area it had in its first location, reaching 450 sqm.
