The company keeps track of its carbon footprint in scopes 1, 2 and 3, including its corporate headquarters in Madrid and the 308 street-level branches of its commercial network in Spain.
For the third consecutive year, Viajes El Corte Inglés has registered its carbon footprint in the Carbon Footprint, Compensation and CO₂ Absorption Projects Register of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), corresponding to the 2024 financial year. It had previously obtained the relevant certification from AENOR.
This registration certifies that the company has calculated and registered its carbon footprint for scopes 1, 2 and 3, incorporating not only direct emissions and those derived from energy consumption, but also other relevant indirect emissions associated with its activity, such as the purchase of goods and services, employee travel, business trips or waste management.
The calculation covers its two corporate headquarters in Madrid and the 308 street-level branches of its commercial network in Spain, offering a broad and representative view of its environmental impact.
Maintaining for three consecutive years the calculation and recording of the carbon footprint in scopes 1, 2 and 3 reflects a commitment by Viajes El Corte Inglés to an increasingly rigorous, transparent and responsible management of its environmental performance.
Obtaining this certification is a recognition of the work carried out by the company in terms of sustainability and reinforces its strategy for measuring and managing emissions associated with its activity. It also contributes to strengthening the trust of customers, suppliers, public administrations and other stakeholders, in a context in which ESG criteria have a growing weight in corporate decision-making.
With this new milestone, Viajes El Corte Inglés continues to move forward in integrating sustainability criteria in its activity, aligning its management with regulatory demands and the expectations of its stakeholders.
